Pictory is an AI video-generation tool that turns scripts and text into finished videos, and cancelling a paid plan means ending the recurring billing — but unlike most subscriptions, the act of leaving can destroy your work. The critical trap is that Pictory may delete projects and the videos you generated once the subscription ends, so cancelling without exporting first is how people lose footage they thought was safely stored.

The real weight is not the cancellation itself but what happens after: Pictory is non-refundable, and more importantly it does not guarantee your generated videos will survive the downgrade — the cancellation can reach into your existing work, not just stop future billing.

To cancel, open pictory.ai/account/billing and go to My Account › Billing, then end the subscription before the renewal date. After cancellation you lose editing access, and your projects and videos may be removed. Resubscribing later is possible by logging back in and starting a new plan, but anything you did not download beforehand is gone — only the files you already saved to your own device remain.

Cancel before the renewal date to stop the next charge, but make the download step non-negotiable: before you cancel, go through every video you want to keep and download it to local storage, one by one. This is irreversible — Pictory is non-refundable and does not retain undownloaded output after the subscription lapses. Already-downloaded videos stay with you, but anything left in the editor is at risk. Once your files are safe locally, resubscribe anytime without losing what you saved.
